School Song

We’re the Castaic Cubs

(sung to tune of “You’re a Grand Old Flag”)

By Mrs. Abramson's Class of 2007

We’re the Castaic Cubs, we’re the great

     mighty Cubs,

And forever so proud may we feel,

We’re the emblem of the school we love,

The home of the silver and teal.

Every heart beats true when our best work

     we do,

And there’s always a boast or brag

For our teachers, principal, and friends,

We’re so glad to be Castaic Cubs!

Emergency Student Dismissal Procedures

All students at our school have been divided into four groups and each group is assigned a color, based on the first letter of their last name

A – F = GREEN

G – L, Special Education Students & Siblings = RED

M – R = YELLOW

S – Z = BLUE

In the event of an actual emergency:

When coming to the campus to pick up your child(ren), please adhere to the following guidelines:

1.    Proceed to the YMCA (walker’s gate). This gate is located near the upper parking lot.

2.    At the gate, you will be directed to a “check out” line, based on the first letter of your child’s last name.

3.    You will be asked to show proper identification. Students will only be released to those listed as emergency contacts on student’s emergency card.

4.    Once you have been “identified”, you will be directed to a “meeting area” to be reunited with your child(ren).

5.    You will then be led to an “Exit” gate, located near the library.

It is our goal to make this procedure as quick and seamless as possible. In the event of a real emergency, everyone is encouraged to stay calm and collected.  If you have any questions about these procedures, please contact the principal, Mrs. Davis.

A Reminder About Food in the Classroom

The Castaic Union School District would like to remind all parents that any food brought into the classroom to be given to other students (i.e. class parties, treats for Valentine's Day, etc.) must be store bought.  According to the State of California, Department of Health Services, California Uniform Retail Food Facilities Law, Article 7, Section 27604:  “No food prepared or stored in a private home shall be used, stored, served, offered for sale, sold or given away in a food facility or school.”  If you have any questions regarding this policy, please contact the school office.  Thank you.
