Assemblies at CES serve many purposes. Some are designed to build school spirit and moral while others are educational. The students engage in a collective experience that reflects positivity and enriches learning. We strive to have several assemblies throughout the school year which are paid for by funds raised by the PTA.
These two events are held during the year to provide a fun opportunity for students to spend time with their parents at school before their school day starts. It's also a great way for parents to meet other parents!
Red Ribbon Week is celebrated across the country during October. At CES, our focus is on friendship. During "Friendship Week" everyone had an opportunity to participate in the fun theme of the day and show how much we care about our friends at school. Friendship Week is scheduled for October 2018.
Each year our Scholastic Book Fair offers a chance for students to shop with their class and with their parents after school. Proceeds from the Book Fair are used to purchased new books for the school library. This year's Book Fair will be held in Spring 2018.
We offer several different styles of Spirit Wear that are available in Youth and Adult sizes. Students are encouraged to
wear their Spirit Wear on Fridays and show their Cub Spirit! The shirts are also great for parents and students to wear
on field trips. Spirit Wear will be available for order in Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.
The Green Club consists of 5th-6th graders who work together each Thursday afternoon to collect recycling from the classrooms to dump into the large recycling bins for pickup.
School memories are captured forever in a yearbook. We publish a 80-page full-color yearbook that is distributed during the last week of school. Yearbooks will be available for pre-order in early 2019.
Room Parents are a service we provide for our teachers and parents to help with communication between the PTA and classes. They may also assist the teacher in compiling a roster, planning class parties, and relaying information. Please contact your child's teacher at the beginning of the year if you're interested in helping.
